How To Plan A 50 Person Wedding?

If you're planning a wedding for 50 people, finding the right tent, tables, chairs, and decorations can be overwhelming. To simplify the process, we've put together a comprehensive guide that covers everything you need to know.

Let's start with tents. When choosing a tent for your event, it's important to consider the amount of free space you need. Will you have a dance floor or serve food in a buffet? Do you need tables for dishes? These are things to consider when trying to plan a 50 person wedding.

For tents you will need a 20x30 Marquee Tent or a tent that has the square footage of 600sqft, this can seat 50 people comfortably. You can always go bigger, but that is the smallest Marquee Tent we would recommend. With a 20x30 Marquee Tent you will be able to fit 10 6ft rectangular tables or 8 5ft round tables. This will still allow guests to walk around and not bump into any tables, which is extremely important.

Next let us consider the tables we need for our guests and for ourselves. Now for a 50 person wedding you have to consider what kind of tables you want, they cost roughly the same but seat people different. We have 5ft round tables as well as 6ft rectangular tables each one seats people differently.

A 6ft rectangular table can fit 6 people comfortably and you can put a single person on either end for 8 people maximum, but we don’t recommend this as it can be very crowded. For a 50 person wedding you would want is either 8 rectangular tables with 2 people sitting on the ends, and 9 tables can be joined together or separated.

A 5ft round table can fit 8 people comfortably! Which is 2 more than the rectangular table, and you would be able to fit everyone with 7 tables. Honestly that simple, and will easily fit in a 20x30 Marquee Tent.

Now the choice is yours on whether you would like a round tables for your wedding or if you would like rectangular tables.

At Forever Party Rentals we have two different choices of chairs, either the extremely elegant chiavari chairs which cost significantly more to rent vs the classy fanback chairs or garden chairs. Now the question becomes how many do you need? This is honestly simple, 50 chairs.

Chiavari chairs are non foldable chairs which offer an elegant look to any wedding, typically made out of resin but look similar to wood.

Fanback chairs are foldable plastic and metal chairs that are beautiful in their own way by being simple and to the point. They are significantly cheaper than fanback chairs.

Finally, don't forget to consider additional decorations such as tent walls, dance floors, string lights, or chandeliers. If your event is during the day, you may not need additional lighting, but if it's in the evening, string lights can create a romantic ambiance. Most rentals don't come with linens, so be sure to inquire about all your needs to ensure your event is everything you deserve.
